The Consistory

Married and father of three children, Fabien began his career in Paris as a lawyer before moving to London in 2004. After requalifying as a Solicitor, he works as a legal professional for a P&I club specializing in maritime insurance.

Fabien joined the Consistory in 2010 and again in September 2020 (after an interruption between 2013 and 2020). Within the Consistory, Fabien handles legal issues (in collaboration with Anne) and insurance matters.

He has been the President of the Consistory since September 2022.

Thibault, a graduate in public law from the University of Poitiers and in viticulture, œnology, and wine trade in Bordeaux, is an entrepreneur and the founder of a wine import company for the British market. Married to a Scottish woman, they have two children and have been residing in England since 2001. Since his teenage years, Thibault has been an active layperson in the Protestant Church, initially involved in youth organizations. In our Soho Church, Thibault has held various positions since 2001, including the youth group, Sunday School, editing the Lien publication, President of the Consistory, Trustee of the Huguenot Trust affiliated with the Church, and currently serving as the Vice President of the Consistory. He is also the Church of London’s delegate to the Community of Protestant French-speaking Churches Worldwide (Ceeefe), where he has been the lay Vice President since 2009.

Married and father of four, Ghislain is an engineer with a degree in Mathematics & Computer Science from INSA Rouen, who has been based in London since the end of 2006. He works as a financial risk consultant for banking institutions, most recently with UBS for over 5 years.

Ghislain first joined the renovation team in 2015 and then the Consistory in 2016. Since then, he has been fully involved in the administrative and financial management of the church, overseeing the finances and maintaining contact with architects during the renovation of our premises. He serves as the treasurer of the Consistory.

Originally from London, Phoebe grew up in Strasbourg where she obtained a bachelor’s degree and a research master’s degree in Protestant Theology. She became actively involved with UEPAL (Union des Églises Protestantes d’Alsace et de Lorraine), serving as a catechism and youth camp animator. Returning to London in 2014, Phoebe joined the EPFL community where she became part of the team organizing the Sunday School. After a stay in the Middle East, she joined the Consistory in 2019, taking on the role of secretary and occasionally filling in for the pastor by leading the worship service as a lay preacher.

Bénédicte, a graduate of Sciences Po, worked as an economist at the Banque de France for 15 years before moving to London in 2006. There, she pursued a longstanding passion by studying art history.

She joined the Soho Church in search of quality religious education for her son and became actively involved by leading the children’s religious education for several years. In 2016, she joined the Consistory and the renovation team, taking charge of the Library’s conservation plan.

Becoming the Vice President of the Consistory in 2017, she later assumed the role of President in July 2019. Alongside Carole de Saint Affrique, she was responsible for fundraising and overseeing the renovation work. During the Covid period, she tried video editing to upload weekly online services. She decided not to renew her presidency in September 2022 but remains involved in the Consistory, particularly as the head of the Library’s conservation team.

John is the member of the Consistory who always greets you with a smile at the Sunday morning worship service.

Married and a father of one son, John has been living in the United Kingdom since 1977. He is a chartered accountant registered with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

John became part of the community in September 2021 and joined the Consistory in October 2022.

Originally from Bordeaux, where she studied law, and having lived in Paris, she has been settled in London since 1998. She works as a legal counsel in investment banking. Married and a mother of two children, she joined the children’s Bible study team in the mid-2000s and later joined the Consistory in 2009. Within the Consistory, she has been involved in various projects, including the Crossrail and Rights of Light matters, and served as the secretary from 2017 to 2019.
