Jean Anouilh’s L’Allouette (The Lark)
Playing at the Chelsea Theatre by the amateur actors of Tamise en Scène, who regularly rehearse in our halls. Alternately comic and poignant, L’Allouette, written in the aftermath of World War II, takes on another resonance in 2024. This text, less staged than Antigone, surpasses it however in strength, poetry, and humour dispersed throughout. Suitable for ages 12 and up.
If you like planning your outings, you can already take note of the next Tamise en Scène performance: after last year’s success of Molière’s Le Bourgeois Gentilhomme, they will be performing Les Femmes Savantes from Thursday 6th of June to Sunday 10th of June at 7:30 PM, in the intimate and immersice setting of St Botolph Hall.
Also note the four-handed organ concert given by our current organist Eleni, and our past organist Ourania, at Southbank on June 28th at 6:00 PM. Bach, Franck, Liszt will be on the program.
Finally, a Music Festival organised in partnership with Les Fauristes (& Friends) from 21st of June to 1st of July. You can already reserve your seats for the concerts that will take place at our church by following this link.
